Tree planting
Green Flag Project
Tree Planting in Blackrock
Members from St.Fursey's green school committee took part in a planting ceremony in the new park in Blackrock to mark National Tree Week. The park has recently got a new outdoor classroom installed where children can learn all about biodiversity by experiencing it first hand.
Oak trees
The children in Senior Infants and First Class planted acorns back in Autumn. First they tested the acorns to check if they would grow or not. If the acorns floated in a basin of water it meant they should grow. If they sank in a basin of water it meant they should not grow. Luckily since the arrival of Spring the acorns have shooted up and are growing into beautiful oak trees.
