Outdoor Classroom
Children from 3 class experienced the joy of working close to nature in Blackrock's new outdoor classroom. They learned about some of the old Irish traditions linked with the month of May. Pamela Whitaker guided them through some very interesting artwork and poetry before helping them plant more shrubs and plants in the outdoor classroom. Pamela works under the name of Groundswell and more information on her work and the plants in the outdoor classroom can be obtained on by clicking on Tree Tribes, Forest Gardens and Land Art. Despite the showers the children enjoyed their morning in the 'Hedge school'. The outdoor classroom is located behind the community centre beside the children's play area and is well worth a visit.
